I woke up this morning thinking “I don't want to get out of bed. I don't want to go to work. I don't want to ride my scooter.” I knew I was supposed to get up early for a doctor's appointment but still it didn't motivate me.
I laid there, on my doubled camping mats looking up at the ceiling – and out the glass door…and started thinking about Hawaii – about my youthful attitude and enthusiasm for living while I was there…I remembered blasting hip-pop tunes in my Land Rover Discovery II, zooming up and down the volcanoes side on different adventures. I thought about all those songs I listened to…and wondered where those artists are now – some still around – like Akon and T-Pain…the new greats that emerged. And others, like MIMS, who I haven't heard from so much lately. I started thinking about MIMS in particular – MIMS' “This is why I'm Hot” song, which started its rise to popularity early 2007.
“This is why I'm hot…this is why I'm hot” started thumping through my brain.
“I'm hot cause I'm fly…you ain't cuz you not…this is why, this is why, this is why I'm hot.”
I couldn't help but start to move around, moving my torse left and right until I had to get up and start grooving around the room at 6 am. I saw my ipod lying on the floor and decided to do a 15 minute breathing meditation with Presence Process (more on this to come later) to start the day off right. I turned my ipod on and then thought, well maybe I'll listen to “Shuffle” for a little while.
I almost couldn't believe it when “This is Why I'm Hot” started playing! I haven't listened to this song in ages! Needless to say, it gave me the strength to “Get up, get out and get something.” And that's what I'm doing right now. So I'd better sign off for now.
